FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: How much do you charge?
A: We have several packages, but our clients spend $2,875 on average (I know that’s a weird amount, but you’ll understand after you see our pricing list). Contact us for a full pricing list.
Q: How many photos do you deliver after each wedding?
A: Every wedding is different, but I would expect around 650 photos (maybe less, maybe more… it’s a surprise!).
Q: How many hours of coverage do you provide?
A: Our base package provides 5 hours of coverage, but for a few bucks more, you can step up to 8 hours of coverage (which we totally recommend; you won’t be sorry you did). If you want coverage of the entire day, from bridal prep through people gettin’ down on the dance floor, we recommend no fewer than 8 hours of coverage (especially if you have an uncle with hilarious dance moves).
Q: How soon after our wedding can we expect to receive our photos?
A: We post one of our favorite photos from your wedding the day after your wedding. We then do a blog post showing the highlights from your wedding within a few weeks of your wedding day. It usually takes us 6-8 weeks to deliver all of your custom edited wedding photos to you.
Q: Do we receive all of the photos you take on our wedding day?
A: No, but you do receive the BEST photos we take on your wedding day. If you knew how many photos we take during your wedding day, it would blow your mind. We feel that it is our job to select the best of the best, so that’s what we deliver to you.
Q: Do you edit all of our photos?
A: No. If we did that, it would take a year before you received your wedding photos. Instead, we edit each and every photo that we select as the “best of the best” by hand. When all is said is done, you’ll receive hundreds of photos that look amazing!
Q: Do you shoot engagement sessions?
A: You bet! Engagement sessions actually make your wedding photos better because engagement sessions give you the opportunity to get comfortable in front of the camera and to get to know us as photographers. This way you’re not doing that stuff on your wedding day; you’re just ready to rock. On top of that, engagement sessions are also an opportunity to get really creative portraits because we’re only focused on shooting you guys as a couple, as opposed to your wedding, where we have to also photograph your ceremony, your families, and the reception.
Q: How would you describe your photographic style?
A: Face-meltingly awesome? That may be too vague for some, so how about we just say that our style is “photojournalistic” with a few “artistically posed” shots thrown in for good measure. If you have a “good side,” let us know.
Q: I feel weird about getting photographed. Can you help me out with that?
A: Totally! Being in front of the camera can be nerve-racking. Do I smile? What do I do with my hands?! No need to get anxious; we’ll keep you relaxed and smiling. While 90% of our shooting on your wedding day is candid photography (or photojournalism, if you want to get all fancy about it), we will also pose you so you look your best during your portrait sessions.
Q: Can we print our photos after they have been delivered?
A: Absolutely! In fact, we recommend it. Digital files are great because you can always pull them up on your computer or cell phone, but nothing beats holding a photo in your hand or looking at one hanging on your wall or sitting on your coffee table.
Q: Do you provide printing services?
A: We work with a fantastic print lab and would be happy to fulfill your print order for you. That being said, once we deliver the photos and print rights to you, you are more than welcome to select a printer of your choice to print your photos.
Q: How much do albums cost?
A: Way less than you’d expect (we charge less than most wedding photographers for albums because we’re awesome that way). Contact us for a full pricing list.
Q: Do you travel for weddings or engagement sessions?
A: Yes we do. We love to travel and photographing weddings in new locations is one of the most exciting things about our jobs. Contact us to learn more about our pricing if destination weddings are your thing.
Q: Do you take cat photos?
A: We own two cats (as well as a dog and a son, though he prefers that we don’t say we “own” him, except when it comes to playing video games… “Zing!”), and we think cat photos are adorable. That being said, you probably won’t get any of our cat photos when we deliver your wedding photos to you (unless you have a cat that’s hanging around while you get dressed or is the one getting busy on the dance floor during your reception, in which case, yes… you will get an awesome cat photo)
Q: Are you guys married?
A: To each other? Yes! We’ve been together for 13 years, married for 8.5 years and counting. Life’s good when you’re married to the one you love.
Q: Why do you guys shoot weddings?
A: Because it’s fun meeting new people and hanging out at parties. But, seriously, what’s not to love about capturing people’s emotions on one of the happiest days of their lives?! Also, we like the cake. Save us a slice. Seriously. I love cake.
